We will soon be making lists, checking them twice (at least), packing, and checking travel documents. On January 11 we fly from Chicago to New York and then onto Buenos Argentina where our adventure begins.
First stop, Buenos Aires. Then we fly down to Ushuaia, for the end of the world excursion, next, it's up to Mendoza in the heart of malbec country. Then after the wine we are off to another G Adventure in Iguassu Falls and finally back to Buenos Aires. In between and during this will be wine tasting, a visit to a Gaucho ranch, penguins, seals, wine tasting, cooking classes, and food tastings. We could not plan a trip to Argentina without the tango. But there will be no lessons as my partner Dennis doesn't think we could mange either the tango or horse back riding so we will watch but not participate in either. To put it more directly--he said, "You're not as flexible as you used to be!" I think that's just because the last time I went horse back riding the fire department had to be called to get me out of the saddle. To be honest that's not quite true but it seemed a good option at the time. Just let me say it wasn’t a pretty sight, funny though.
We are now packed and almost set to begin this journey. I'm in a battle with Aerless Compression Bags. I was able to pack more without them then by using them. They have it appears, only bots for customer support which is to say none. I want to return them but cannot get an address or a shipping label. Enough griping.
Argentina, here we come!
And now a word from Dennis--
Well, its about 6 AM on 1/9/26 and Cindy has begun with, "When are you going to write something for the blog?" And so it begins...
We're headed to Chicago this morning for Dominic's birthday tomorrow (our grandson's first birthday) then on Sunday 1/11 to O'Hare for our flight to Argentina and Brazil via New York. (Don't cry for us, Argentina?) If all goes as planned we're scheduled to return on or about mid-February. With all that's happening in South America, I emphasize "scheduled." Everything's booked and mostly paid for so we're determined to go. Cindy has spent many hours on the phone or online with our intrepid travel agent Debbie, the airlines, American Embassy, and scores of others beyond my understanding so it would be tough to back out now.
Consider this your invitation to travel with us on our latest journey. We're excited, curious and may I add anxious and nervous about this adventure. Well, at least I am. We'll describe what we see, taste, and experience but mostly what we feel about what's going on around us. Your comments are always welcome here or in an email. Well, most of them anyway...😏See ya later...
